A new hollow fiber liquid/solid phase microextraction using Al2O3 nanoparticles as the adsorbent for extraction of ginsenosides from an oral liquid

Abstract

A new hollow fiber-liquid/solid phase microextraction for extraction of ginsenosides from a Chinese compound formula was established using Al2O3 nanoparticles as the adsorbent. The enhancement technique involved dispersing Al2O3 particles in n-butanol to fill the pores and lumen of a polyether sulfone membrane fiber. The optimum extraction conditions were as follows: n-butanol as the acceptor phase; total of 11 hollow fiber bars; extraction time of 50 min; methanol as the desorption solvent. The limits of detection for ginsenosides Rg1, Re, and Rb1 were 0.066, 0.306, and 0.400 μg mL−1, respectively. The extraction recovery ranged from 88.61% to 94.29% with a relative standard deviation (RSD) < 6.30%. The proposed method was successfully applied to determine ginsenosides in a Yangshenguiling oral liquid and acceptable results were obtained.
