Facile synthesis of multi-responsive functional graphene quantum dots for sensing metal cations

Abstract

Graphene quantum dots (GQDs) modified with amine and phosphate groups have been synthesized by a “bottom-up” method through a one pot procedure. Functional GQDs have been applied to sense metal cations by fluorescence at a 50 ppb level.
