Self-organized spatial patterns of carbonate formed via a nonclassical crystallization pathway

Abstract

Self-organized spatial motifs of calcium carbonate with banded or concentric ring patterns are presented here through a cationic polyelectrolyte-induced nonclassical crystallization process in combination with synergistic strontium ions.
