Efficient and convenient oxidation of aldehydes and ketones to carboxylic acids and esters with H2O2 catalyzed by Co4HP2Mo15V3O62 in ionic liquid [TEBSA][BF4]

Abstract

A simple, efficient, and eco-friendly procedure for the oxidation of aldehydes and ketones to carboxylic acids and esters with H2O2 catalyzed by Co4HP2Mo15V3O62 in ionic liquid [TEBSA][BF4] has been developed. This atom-economical protocol affords the target products in good to high yields. The products can be separated by a simple extraction with organic solvent, and the catalytic system can be recycled and reused without loss of catalytic activity. Additionally, the possible mechanism of oxidation in the catalytic system is proposed.
