A ligand-free strategy for the copper-catalysed direct alkynylation of trifluoromethyl ketones

Abstract

Most direct alkynylation methods of trifluoromethyl ketones require an additional ligand. In this study, a simple, practical and efficient superbase system for the direct alkynylation of trifluoromethyl ketones was developed without any additional ligand. The catalytic system can tolerate a wide range of functional groups on ketones and alkynes.
