Fluorescence imaging of a new monofunctional platinum(ii) complex containing a thioflavin-T (ThT)-based fluorophore

Abstract

A new fluorescent monofunctional Pt(II) complex, [PtLCl]Cl (L = 4′-bis(pyridine-2-ylmethyl)amino-2-phenylbenzothiazole), has been synthesized and characterized. The complex is suitable for fluorescence imaging in living cells, which is valuable for studying the cellular processing of anticancer monofunctional platinum(II) compounds and for bringing new insights into their cellular mechanism.
