A fluoride bridged {CrIII4DyIII4} single molecule magnet

Abstract

The synthesis of a heterometallic octanuclear {CrIII4DyIII4} complex containing fluoride bridges displays SMM behaviour, with highly coercive magnetic hysteresis loops. Intriguingly multiple relaxation processes are revealed and the relaxation times are found to be longer compared to those of an analogous complex with the same metallic core topology.
