Controllable synthesis of rutile titania with novel curved surfaces†
Abstract
We report a facile organic-free hydrothermal strategy to fabricate rutile TiO2 single crystals with a new type of curved surfaces which consist of high-energy-facet-bound nanohills rather than quasi-continuous miller-index microfacets. Moreover, by solely altering the concentration of Fâ, the proportion of facets as well as the aspect ratio of TiO2 could be readily controlled.
