Preparation of mesoporous carbon nanofibers from the electrospun poly(furfuryl alcohol)/poly(vinyl acetate)/silica composites

Abstract

Mesoporous carbon nanofibers were prepared by carbonizing the poly(furfuryl alcohol)/poly(vinyl acetate)/silica composite. Furfuryl alcohol was employed as a carbon source and was electrospun for the first time. The typical product presented favorable properties to be a novel adsorbent.
