Self-assembly of plasma protein through disulfide bond breaking and its use as a nanocarrier for lipophilic drugs†
Abstract
A disulfide bond breaking strategy used to fabricate HSA nanoparticles with dithiothreitol as the reducing agent is presented. The hydrophobic interaction is a dominating factor in the assembly process. These nanoparticles are suitable lipophilic drug delivery systems, which have significant tumor-targeting capabilities.
