Novel mesoporous silicas bearing phosphine oxide ligands with different alkyl chains for the binding of uranium in strong HNO3 media†
Abstract
A new class of mesoporous silicas functionalized with varieties of alkylphosphine oxide ligands was developed via the post-derivatization of a vinyl-anchored precursor. The mesoporous silicas showed effective adsorption towards uranium in strong HNO3 solutions, which is of importance for the uranium recovery in radioactive liquid waste (RLW).
