Graphene sheets fabricated from disposable paper cups as a catalyst support material for fuel cells

Abstract

Disposable paper-cups are used for the formation of graphene sheets with Fe2+ as a catalyst. The proposed synthesis strategy not only enables graphene sheets to be produced in high yield and high quality, but also results in two added bonus products: Fe/graphene and Pt/graphene. The obtained Pt/graphene catalyst exhibits a highly catalytic activity for the oxygen reduction reaction in fuel cells.
