Anchimeric assistance on sequence regulation in partial modification of isotactic poly(propargyl methacrylate) by click reaction

Abstract

Cu-catalyzed click reaction of highly isotactic poly(propargyl methacrylate) with organic azides with a weakly coordinating monoamine was found to proceed to form blocky segments from 1H NMR observation of monomer-sequence sensitive peak-splittings in the partially modified polymer, while the reaction with a highly coordinative triamine proceeded in a random fashion along the polymer chain.
