Anions as additive and template in tuning metallasupramolecular architecture in CuII coordination compounds derived from l-amino acid based chiral ligands

Abstract

Various oxoanions were shown to act as additives in tuning the formation of both 3D non-interpenetrated octahedral channel (3DNIOC) and quartz topology when a bis-pyridyl-bis-amide ligand derived from L-alanine (L1) was reacted with CuCl2 in MeOH/EtOH/water. SiF62−, on the other hand, acted as a template to form a metallacryptand under the same reaction conditions only when the metal salt was CuBr2.
