Phosphofructokinase: structural and functional aspects and design of selective inhibitors
Abstract
Phosphofructokinase is an enzyme of central importance to carbohydrate metabolism and is subject to regulation by a considerable number of allosteric ligands. This review is a survey of the recent literature concerning structural and functional properties of the enzyme phosphofructokinase as well as its importance as target for the development of selective therapeutics for trypanosomiasis.
