A novel 2D→3D array in a vertical mode containing both polyrotaxane and polycatenane motifs

Abstract

Via hydrothermal synthesis, a novel pyridyl-formamide metal–organic compound, namely Zn(L)(bdc)·(H2O)0.5 (1), was obtained. The outstanding structural feature of it is the coexistence of polyrotaxane and polycatenane motifs observed in a 2D→3D interlocking array in a vertical mode.
