Abstract

The direct P₄activation using group 3 metal complexes was achieved for the first time under mild conditions. Two P_n-containing products, P₈⁴⁻ and P₇³⁻, were isolated and characterized for scandium; however, P₇³⁻ was the sole product for yttrium.
