Controlling phase formation in solids: rational synthesis of phase separated Co@Fe2O3 heteroparticles and CoFe2O4 nanoparticles

Abstract

A wet chemical approach from organometallic reactants allowed the targeted synthesis of Co@Fe2O3 heterodimer and CoFe2O4 ferrite nanoparticles. They display magnetic properties that are useful for magnetic MRI detection.
