BN tubular layer-sheathed CaS:Eu2+nanowires as stable red-light-emitting nanophosphors

Abstract

Novel chemically stable CaS:Eu2+ nanowires protected by BN tubular sheaths were synthesized via a one-step and catalyst-free method for the first time; the nanostructures showed a red-light emission when excited by ∼450 nm blue light.
