Abstract

The two chemically equivalent functional groups of 1,1′-diisocyanoferrocene each undergo a different specific reaction with the gold(I) acetylide [Au(C[triple bond, length as m-dash]C–Fc)]n, viz. ordinary coordination and extraordinary 1,1-insertion.
