Optimized pH-responsive cyanine fluorochromes for detection of acidic environments

Abstract

Modulation of pH-responsive cyanine dye pKa values via heteroatom substitution allows for design of fluorescent reporters that are tuned for potential imaging of biologically relevant acidic environments.
