Abstract

Highlights of Group 13 chemistry in 2004 include the account of a chirally-robust cage made from achiral ligands bridging Ga(III), normally classed as being a labile metal centre: moreover, this cage encapsulates a chiral catalyst so affording both size and shape selectivity in the products. Generally, as last year, Roesky and co-workers continue to impress both in the volume and in the imaginative nature of their work, especially that concerning the chemistry of the {(dkio)Al} moiety.
