Microwave-assisted synthesis of nanosized MoSe2

Abstract

A microwave-assisted reaction between Mo(CO)6 and Se has yielded MoSe2 nanoparticles. Nanorods of MoSe2 of lengths ranging from 45 to 55 nanometers are identified in the product mixture. The prepared MoSe2 has been characterized by X-ray powder diffraction measurements, FTIR spectroscopy, photoacoustic spectroscopy (PAS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and high resolution TEM (HRTEM).
