C-Glycoside formation via Lewis acid promoted reaction of O-glycosylimidates with pyrroles

Abstract

O-Glycosylimidates such as 1 react with pyrroles in the presence of BF3·Et2O to give C-glycosides, e.g.2, that are readily elaborated to congeners such as 12 and 13.
