(±)-trans-1,2-Diaminocyclohexane crystallises as a conglomerate

Abstract

(±)-trans-1,2-Diaminocyclohexane has been found to crystallise from n-hexane at –10 °C as a conglomerate (space group P21212, Z = 2), which offers a possibility of resolving (±)-1 by an entrainment procedure, whereas (±)-1·H2SO4 forms heterochiral crystals (space group Pbca, Z = 8).
