Abstract

This work shows that there is a quadric polynomial instead of a linear relationship between mass attenuation coefficients and inverse incoherent scattering radiation in a wide range of atomic number. With this in mind a new absorption correction method, ‘polynomial scattering radiation technique', is recommended for matrix absorption correction in X-ray fluorescence spectrometry.
