Abstract

In this Comment, the authors add some historical perspective to the recent review by Denkhaus et al. These comments correspond to the “History of electrolytic hydride generation in analytical chemistry” and “Reactions on the cathode surface” paragraphs. In view of the literature existing on mechanisms of electrolytic generation of volatile hydrides, a more simple scheme of the process is proposed for analytical use.
