The compound Li(thf)C(SiMe3)2(SiMe2C5H4N
-2) (1) reacts with CuI or AuCl·SMe2 to give the dimeric compounds [MC(SiMe3)2(SiMe2C5H4N-2)]2 (M = Cu or Au), in which the bidentate ligand bridges two metal centres. Reactions of 1 with Group 12
