Formation of novel diaza-metallacycles by insertion of tungsten(ii) aryloxides into aromatic diazine rings

Abstract

The tungsten(II) aryloxide [W(OC6HPh36-C6H5)(OC6HPh4-2,3,5,6)(PMe3)] (1) (OC6HPh4-2,3,5,6 = 2,3,5,6-tetraphenylphenoxide) cleanly inserts into the aromatic diazine rings of pyridazine, benzo[c]cinnoline and phthalazine.
