Diastereospecific synthesis of amino-acid substituted 2,2′-bipyridyl complexes

Abstract

The L-valine substituted 2,2′-bipyridyl ligand 1 forms Δ-M(1)3 (M = FeII, CoII, CoIII) complexes diastereospecifically, with the L-valinate arms forming a chiral anion-binding pocket in the solid state.
