Abstract
Treatment of [Cl(dppe)2Ru–CC–CC–SiMe3 ] with [Fe(C5H5)2]PF6 leads to an unprecedented metal-assisted [2 + 2] coupling reaction on CγCδ bonds to obtain [Cl(dppe)2Ru–CC–CCHC(CH2 )CCRu(dppe)2Cl]PF6 with the charge highly delocalized over seven carbon atoms and including a cyclobutenyl bridge; the crystal structure was solved.
