Abstract

Ph[upper bond 1 start]CSSC(Ph)S[upper bond 1 end](MF6)2 (M = As, Sb), (X-ray crystal structure, FT Raman, 1H, 13C NMR and theoretical calculations) containing the first example of a dicationic 6π five-membered C–S heterocycle and sulfur were formed on disproportionation of Ph[upper bond 1 start]CSSS[upper bond 1 end](MF6) in liquid SO2 solution.
