Formation of folded complexes retaining intramolecular H-bonding in the extraction of nickel(ii) by phenolic oxime and aliphatic diamine ligands

Abstract

Solvent extraction of NiII by phenolic oximes is enhanced significantly by addition of aliphatic diamines; octahedral [Ni(II)(phenolate-oxime)2(diamine)] complexes have been characterised that contain a novel folded conformation, retaining intramolecular hydrogen bonding between the two oxime ligands.
