Abstract

The 27Al MAS NMR spectra of amorphous alumina exhibit three resonances resulting from aluminium in four-, five-, and six-coordination, whereas samples containing crystalline particles of bayerite, gibbsite, and boehmite show only a single resonance associated with six-coordinate aluminium.
