Abstract
A new oxycarbonate Sr4Fe2.6O8.2(CO3)0.4 closely related to the n = 3 member of the Ruddlesden–Popper family has been synthesized; it exhibits the presence of Fe3+ and Fe4+ in low spin configuration and a magnetic transition at 35 K.
