Synthesis and crystal structure of novel ring-like polyoxomolybdate and its 2-D self-assembly

Abstract

Heptamolybdate was reduced to yield novel ring-like clusters inside which Ca2+ cations are encapsulated and are assumed to be templates; a 2-D compound has also been obtained by a similar method and proved to be constructed of the same cluster rings connected by Ca2+ and glycine.
