The co-ordination chemistry of aminotroponiminatesDedicated to Professor Herbert W. Roesky on the occasion of his 65th birthday.

Abstract

This article reviews recent progress of main group and transition metal complexes of N,N'-disubstituted aminotroponiminates and mono-bridged bis(aminotroponiminate)s. Recent developments have shown that aminotroponiminates can stabilise low valent main group metals and that they can be used in early transition metal chemistry as cyclopentadienyl alternatives. The structural properties and the reactivity of these complexes as well as the catalytic and synthetic applications of aminotroponiminate complexes will be outlined in this article.
