Synthesis and structures of carbonyl adducts of the boranes B(BX2)3 (X = F, Cl)

Abstract

The borane carbonyl adduct (Cl2B)3BCO has been prepared and characterised by spectroscopic methods and X-ray crystallography and is compared with the fluorine analogue (F2B)3BCO which has also been structurally characterised by X-ray crystallography.
