Abstract

The reaction of Cp*WCl4 with LiSeBut in THF in the presence of ButNC gave rise to Cp*W(SeBut)(CNBut)3 3, while treatment of the Cp*WCl4/LiSeBut reaction mixture with Li2Se2 followed by cation exchange with PPh4Br in MeCN afforded (PPh4)[Cp*WSe3] 1.
