Cooperative hydrogen bonding and yttrium(iii) complexation in the assembly of molecular capsules

Abstract

A combination of hydrogen bonding and metal coordination leads to the formation of the new solid state molecular capsule [{18-crown-6}⊂{(Y(H2O)73+ )1.33(p-sulfonatocalix[4]arene4− )}2] at pH between 1.0 and 4.0.
