Iridoids from Carbohydrates via Pauson–Khand Cyclopentane Annulation Mediated Strategies: Preliminary Studies

Abstract

The Pauson–Khand reaction on suitable carbohydrate derivatives obtained from L-arabinose gives annulated pyranosides that can be transformed into advanced synthetic intermediates for the synthesis of iridoid aglycones. Preliminary studies towards this end are described.
