Synthesis, X-ray and solid state NMR studies on silver(I) silanethiolates. Crystal structure of bis[(triphenylphosphine)(tri-o-tolylsilanethiolato)silver(I)]–toluene(1/2), [{Ag[SSi(C6H4Me-o)3](PPh3)}2]·2C6H5Me

Abstract

A series of silver(I) trialkoxysilanethiolates [Ag(SSiR3)(PPh3)2], R = ButO, BusO or PriO, and triarylsilanethiolates [Ag(SSiR′3)(PPh3)], R′ = o-MeC6H4 or Ph, were obtained by reaction of [Ag(acac)(PPh3)2] with the respective silanethiols. Products were studied by 1H NMR, CP MAS 31P and 29Si NMR in solution and/or in the solid state. A single-crystal X-ray structural analysis was carried on for [{Ag[SSi(C6H4Me-o)3](PPh3)}2]·2C6H5Me.
