Electrochemical investigations of mono- and multilayers of phenoxazine dyes on graphite electrodes

Abstract

For the determination of heterogeneous charge transfer rate constants kct°, the working curve data from peak-to-peak splitting referring to surface and thin layer voltammetry given by Laviron were supplemented by an explicit equation, where the electron number n is replaced by the "‘surface redox valency’' n′. The pH dependent peak potentials of Pyocyanine and Coelestin Blue were measured at decreasing surface concentrations and extrapolated to zero coverage. The plateau behaviour of the catalytical steady-state currents with increasing numbers of multilayers of β-Naphthoyl Nile Blue at graphite electrodes immersed in NADH solution suggest good plane-to-plane electronic coupling.
