Alkylidene–Dithiocarbamate coupling—crystal structure of [Ru{κ2-CH(C6H4OMe-4)SC(NC4H8)S}{κ2-S2CNC4H8}(CO)(PPh3)]

Abstract

The reaction of [Ru(â–·CC6H4OMe-4)Cl(CO)(PPh3)2] with [NH4][S2CNC4H8] provides the structurally characterised metallacycle [Ru{κ2-CH(C6H4OMe-4)SC(NC4H8)S}(S2CNC4H8)(CO)(PPh3)], related examples of which arise from the reactions of xanthate or dithiocarbamate salts with the alkylidene compounds [MCl2([double bond, length as m-dash]CHR)- (CO)(PPh3)2] (M=Ru or Os; R=Ph or C6H4OMe-4) and [OsCl([double bond, length as m-dash]CHR)(OH2)(CO)(PPh3)2]ClO4.
