Formation of stable δ-aryliron(III) complexes from the reaction of chloroiron(III) octaphenyltetraazaporphyrinate with aryl Grignard reagents

Abstract

Chloro(octaphenyltetraazaporphyrinato)iron(III) [(Cl)FeIIIOPTAP] reacts with aryl Grignard reagents (ArMgBr; Ar = phenyl or p-tolyl) forming stable low-spin δ-aryliron(III) complexes [(Ar)FeIIIOPTAP].
