Synthesis and Characterization of µ-Alkyne Molybdenum– and Tungsten–Cobalt Clusters containing Functionally Substituted Cyclopentadienyl Ligands†

Abstract

Eight new µ-alkyne molybdenum– and tungsten–cobalt clusters containing functionally substituted cyclopentadienyl ligands have been synthesized via organic carbonyl transformation reactions of clusters [(η5-MeCOC5H4)(OC)2M(µ-C2Ph2)Co(CO)3] (M=Mo or W).
