Syntheses and crystal structures of divalent complexes with a new hexadentate ligand derived from 1,4,7-triazacyclononane

Abstract

Mononuclear complexes [Ni(lbptcn)][ClO4]2, [Cu(lbptcn)][ClO4]2 and [Fe(lbptcn)][ClO4]2 with a new hexadentate ligand 1-(6-methyl-2-pyridylmethyl)-4,7-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-1,4,7-triazacyclononane (lbptcn) having unequivalent pendant arms have been prepared and characterized by electronic spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography.
