Abstract

The reaction of cis-[PtCl2(PEt3)2] with 2 equiv. of [{[Li{η2-OC(But)EC(But)O}(DME)0.5]2}∞], E = Sb or As, affords either the first distibene-dione complex, cis-[Pt(PEt3)2{η2-ButC(O)Sb[double bond, length half m-dash]SbC(O)But}], or the related diarsenide-dione bridged complex, trans-[{Pt(PEt3)Cl}2{µ-η1,η1-ButC(O)- AsAsC(O)But}], the X-ray crystal structures of which are described.
