New sodium organobis(silantriolates)

Abstract

The sodium salt (NaO)3SiC6H4Si(ONa)3 has been prepared by reaction of the corresponding methoxysilane with an aqueous solution of NaOH and was fully characterized by X-ray crystallographic studies, which indicates the presence of 13 water molecules and one hydroxide group in the crystal structure.
