Two versatile new routes to dinuclear molybdenum dithiolene complexes

Abstract

Two routes to the dithiolene complexes [Mo2S(µ-S)2(SCR1[double bond, length half m-dash]CR2S)(η-C5H5)2] starting from the complexes [Mo2(µ-alkyne)(CO)4(η-C5H5)2] are described; in one case the dithiolene ligand is derived from the alkyne, and in the other from a 1,3-dithiole-2-thione reagent.
